Top Flooring 5-Layer Cushion System is a high-performance, multi-layered acrylic flooring solution engineered for outdoor sports courts ideal for asphalt bases. This advanced system includes layers of resurfacer, cushion coats, and color coats, each layer system serving a precise function together ensuring shock absorption, surface uniformity, and long-lasting playability.
It is ideal for a variety of sports, including tennis, basketball, pickleball court flooring, and multi-sport courts, offering a surface that provide safe movement, consistent ball bounce, and superior traction.
What Makes Our 5-Layer System Unique?
At Top Flooring, we believe only the performance layers above the base should be counted in the 5-layer system. That is why the concrete primer layer we apply, not count in 5-layer system. This keeps our process clear and focused on performance.
Total System Thickness: Approx. 2.6 mm
Layer 1: Acrylic Resurfacer
Purpose: Creates a uniform, textured base by filling minor imperfections and leveling the surface.
Composition: 100% acrylic based resufacer blended with fine silica sand for optimal grip and base leveling.
Benefits: Enhances adhesion for subsequent layers and increases surface roughness for traction.
Thickness: 0.30 – 0.50 mm
Layer 2: Cushion Coat – Base Layer
Purpose: Establishes the first cushioning layer to absorb shock and reduce joint stress.
Composition: Acrylic cushion mixed with graded rubber granules or silica for elasticity.
Benefits: Improves comfort during high-intensity play, and reduces fatigue and injury risks.
Thickness: 0.60 – 0.80 mm
Layer 3: Cushion Coat – Final Layer
Purpose: Strengthens the cushion system by reinforcing the shock-absorbing base layer.
Composition: Rubberized acrylic with consistent particle size for layered flexibility.
Benefits: Extends more surface life by handling repeated player movement and improve more impact.
Thickness: 0.60 – 0.80 mm
Layer 4: Color Coat - Base Layer
Purpose: Provides the base color and surface texture for anti-slip performance.
Composition: Pigmented acrylic with fine silica sand for added traction.
Benefits: Enhances grip, prevents falls and slips, and increases game playability.
Thickness: 0.25 – 0.35 mm
Layer 5: Color Coat - Final Layer
Purpose: Delivers the final color coat with a smooth, sealed finish for visual appeal and weather resistance.
Composition: Pure acrylic resin in high-opacity color, typically without added sand.
